Three evenings of jazz in live and broadcast concerts by some of the best Polish and Israeli Jazz artists. The festival features unique original productions with Polish-Israeli collaborations. The events and participants: Saxophonist and composer Adam Pieronczyk, one of the leading artist in the Polish Jazz scene on his first tour to Israel; Anat Fort, Daniel Zamir, Nuphar Fey, Gilad Efrat Ensemble, STAV, the Maciej Sikała Jazz Forum Talents and more.
The program includes concerts by leading Polish jazz musicians and bands, Polish-Israeli collaborations, “Improvising Chopin” program with leading Israeli bands playing new interpretations of Chopin’s compositions, a tribute to the legendary soundtrack composer and modern Polish father of jazz Krzysztof Komda on his 90th birthday, Polish jazz film screenings, live broadcasts from Jassmine Music Club in Warsaw and more.
The festival will focus on some of the finest and most prominent artists, ensembles and music in Polish jazz, along with musical arrangements of leading Israeli jazz musicians ensembles of pieces from two of the most significant Polish composers, Frederic Chopin and Krzysztof Komeda. These musical creations have been especially commissioned for the festival and feature fascinating Polish-Israeli collaborations.
The first festival, which took place in 2020 at the height of the Corona epidemic, was conducted mostly through livestreaming broadcasts from music clubs in Warsaw, Krakow and Tel Aviv. In its second year, the Polish Jazz Festival will be held in one of Israel’s leading music clubs, Tel Aviv’s Terminal 4, and will include live concerts by Polish and Israeli Jazz artists as well as screening of concerts by some of Poland’s leading jazz artists, recorded in Warsaw.
In the week of the festival, the Tel Aviv Cinematheque will screen Polish films with jazz soundtracks and a Polish jazz documentary film. An online lecture on the history of jazz in Poland will be broadcasted on social media platforms.
As part of the festival, there will be an “Improvising Chopin” marathon, which was first run in 2020 and has created an interesting tradition with a fascinating stylistic connection between jazz and classical music. In the marathon, the best Israeli musicians and jazz ensembles will perform their own versions of the works of the renowned Polish composer Frederic Chopin for the festival in different and changing stylistic directions.
Another original production will mark the 90th anniversary of the birth of renowned soundtrack composer and father of modern Polish jazz, the late Kazištof Komeda. The concert “Dreaming of Komeda” will be performed by STAV.

Israel Jazz Society (IJS) in a voluntary organization comprising thousands of Israeli Jazz fans. IJS commenced its activities in 2016 . Its mission is to provide Israeli Jazz fans with quality jazz content, concerts, lectures and meeting with musicians. IJS has invited dozens of world-renowned jazz musicians to perform in Israel and produced high quality concerts with Israel’s top jazz musicians.
