In the field of productions, Shlomit Matari is a force to be reckoned with. As a freelance producer, It seems as though there’s nothing she cannot make happen and in the best way possible. From live-music productions to digital commercials, and massive international exhibitions. Once the pandemic stroke, she had been mainly focusing on exhibitions by “Forum Productions”, among them is a one-of-a-kind project of the first Israeli wax museum - it will soon be launched in Arena Herzliya.

Though she finds joy in everything she does, she longs for the return of live concerts, as the main live producer of the popular Israeli band, “Girafot” but also in the local alternative scene, which she had been involved in for years with Metal and Punk bands such as Betzefer, Useless ID, and Shredhead. This is her greatest passion. Once a year she makes sure to do a pro bono production for a cause close to her heart. Basically, Shlomit knows how to get things done, and done right, all while eating Oreos.
What was the last song you listened to? And what do you most expect to listen to next?
It’s Saturday morning and “We Don’t Want the Airwaves” by Useless ID is playing as we speak. I’m very excited to finally check out Methods’ debut album!
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I would want to start and run my own production company.
How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do today?
She would probably be stoked, and then ask me for free concert tickets.
What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?
I wouldn’t define it as my career highlight, but I’m definitely proud of being a part of the production crew for the Israel Tattoo Convention since its 2nd year (2014). Awesome artists from all around the world performing live tattoo sessions, piercings, and various body arts, live shows, and colorful people. I’m happy to be a part of bringing this subculture to the Israeli mainstream stage.
What is the one thing we should pay more attention to as human beings?
Each other’s character and uniqueness. One of the things I do best is to keep in mind, recognize, and remember small details regarding people’s personalities and needs. Both material and emotional.
For right now, what or who inspires you the most?
Anyone who’s managing to accomplish their life goals in any aspect – is inspiring to me.
What do you most enjoy spending money on?
ADD TO CART is my favorite click 😉
I love shopping for myself and for others and crazy about gift-giving. I enjoy buying pop culture items for my friends and colleagues, especially around Christmas time. Once I run into something that reminds me of someone and I know they would like, chances are I’m gonna buy it.
If you could go back to anytime in history, where would you go?
I’d love to be around in the 50s, just so I can go and see Frank Sinatra live in concert.
Currently, what is your biggest challenge?
Currently? Just to keep evolving through these challenging times with everything I managed to build so far, career-wise.
What is your most irrational fear?
Needles. But only the ones used for blood tests.
