When you have a true and clear vision, and when you are willing to work hard for it, things seem to fall just into place. Saar Friedman, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Director at OPEN is a true visionary. He’d been working in the advertisement and branding industry already in his early days as a student and his works are some of the most recognizable in the Israeli landscape.

What was the last song you listened to?
“Daddy Daddy Pipi” by Arik Einstein (He laughs while joking about raising two small kids and two toddlers)
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’m lucky enough to say that I’m already doing it. I would love to just keep on going, all while keeping track and learning more and more about this ever-changing industry.
How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do today?
I think he’d be very intrigued, maybe even fascinated. He’d ask questions and try to execute his own ideas.
What is the one thing we should pay more attention to as human beings?
First and foremost compassion. I feel like if we’d all try and act more compassionate towards one another, real change might come.
For right now, what or who inspires you the most?
Right now? Every Monday night, a couple of episodes of “The Last Dance”. There’s just something about Michael Jordan’s spirit that really resonated with me. It gives me enough inspiration for years and years ahead.
What do you most enjoy spending money on?
Shopping for the perfect gift for my amazing wife.
If you could go back to anytime in history, where would you go?
Around 1948 – Israel’s declaration of independence. I always wanted to see how it all started.
Currently, what is your biggest challenge?
Juggling around four kids, work and zoom conference calls. It is a very delicate balance.
What is your most irrational fear?
The fear of losing control.
