With an uplifting new single, the New-York based artist reminds us all to stay true to who we are, especially when life gets hard.

Green is no stranger to facing struggles head-on. After taking a chance and moving to New York to pursue a solo career, she found herself working a 9-5 job, babysitting nights, living on a tight budget, and struggling to make ends meet. That was the point when she turned back to music: “That survival mode was my wake-up call. That’s when I went back to writing and started to turn things around.” she says.
From this hardship, a new album was born. “Raising Spirits” is a reflection of Michelle’s struggles, doubts, and The realization that New York’s life was an integral step in her artistic and musical path. “The city has had a massive impact on my sound,” says green, as she describes her style as “acoustic pop-soul” with Jazzy melodic influences.
Her first single of the album “Trial By Jury” is about remembering who you are, turning your attention away from all other distractions, staying focused on improving and moving forward, and choosing what to let in and what to keep out. It is the contagiously optimistic song that we all needed right now.

Her upcoming album is the perfect example of an artist translating her life into beautiful songs. Michelle tells the brutally honest truth of living in the big city, while persistently pushing forward and building her name in the recording industry.
“I love this album,” says Green. “Every bit of it is me: my thoughts, my feelings, my colors. “Raising Spirits” took five years to write. New York is overwhelming and it has taken me some time to realize the impact it has had on me.”
“Raising Spirits” is set to be released later this year.
